11 projects ready to be bid out

The City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO) forwarded to the city’s Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) some eleven priority development projects of the city government to be bid out to ascertain the complying and responsive contractors that can implement such projects to contribute in the ongoing efforts to gradually and safely revive the local economy.
City Building Official Arch. Johnny Degay claimed the plans and specifications of these projects had already been completed by their office right in time for the conduct of the required public bidding.
Among the programmed projects that had been forwarded to the BAC for bidding include the P10 million construction of multi-level building phase 2 at the Pines City National High School; P15 million construction of Halfway House phase 2 at Irisan; P10 million improvement of Mines View satellite market building at Mines View Park; P30 million construction of athlete’s quarters and isolation facility within the compound of the Baguio Athletic Bowl; P115 million proposed Baguio tennis court renovation and parking area at the Baguio Athletic Bowl; P5 million construction of nutrition outpost dressing room at the covered court phase 2 at South Sanitary Camp; P4 million provision of modernization of Department of Education educational facilities at Military Cutoff; P2.8 million completion of the evacuation center and isolation center at Gibraltar; P2.6 million proposed renovation for the new legal office at the existing General Services Office at City Hall; improvement and rehabilitation of the Bahay Pag-asa building at Irisan; and proposed repair of dilapidated roof of the City Social Welfare and Development Office at the Silungan Center main conference room.
Degay assured the project plans and specifications had passed through the stringent evaluation and review by the CBAO technical personnel to ensure the proposed structures will conform with the pertinent provisions of the National Building Code and other related laws, rules and regulations.
The CBAO has been tasked to oversee and monitor the put up of vertical structures owned by public or private individuals living in the different parts of the city. The city building official assured their office will closely monitor the implementation of these projects so that contractors that will be chosen by the BAC to implement the same will strictly follow the prescribed plans and specifications to ensure the good workmanship for such structures. – Dexter A.
