100 ambulant vendors get emergency work in Tabuk City

By Larry Lopez

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) โ€“ The city government has provided emergency work to 100 ambulant vendors under its COVID-19 response.

Loyda Saboy, City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), said the beneficiaries are small vendors who sell at school gates but lost their source of income after schools had closed with the quarantine restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recipients come from the cityโ€™s prime barangays of Bulanao Centro, Bulanao Norte, Dagupan Centro, Dagupan West and Laya East, where big schools are located.

Beneficiaries work for 10-days from Nov. 19 to 29, at P350/day for community service.

Listing of the 100 workers was done by the barangays, confirmed by the schools where they were selling and finally validated by the PESO.

This city assistance augments programs of the national government to help marginalized sectors affected by the pandemic, she said. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
