As part of her commitment to sustainability and community development, Baguio Tourism Council Chairman Gladys Vergara donated two solar-powered streetlights to Bayan Park Barangay under her “Glad to be Green” advocacy. This initiative promotes the use of renewable energy to help mitigate climate change and encourage environmentally sustainable practices in local communities.
The solar lights were formally received by Barangay Captain Antonino Cortes Jr. and the Bayan Park Barangay Council, who expressed their gratitude for the donation.
In addition to the solar light donation, Gladys Vergara engaged in discussions with barangay officials regarding the potential installation of a Satellite Connectivity System in the community. This initiative aims to provide free Wi-Fi access to residents, ensuring greater digital connectivity and access to online resources. If implemented, the project will support education, livelihood, and communication needs, particularly benefiting students, job seekers, and small businesses.
Through “Glad to be Green”, Gladys Vergara continues to champion initiatives that promote sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity, reinforcing her dedication to a greener, more connected future for Baguioโs communities. She remains, as always, Glad to Serve Baguio! (PR)
“Gladys Vergara – Glad to serve you!” is a heartfelt commitment to the residents and visitors of Baguio City. It reflects a spirit of positivity, dedication, and support for the community, driving meaningful initiatives that enhance both the city’s heritage and its sustainable future.
