𝗣𝗥𝗢-𝗖𝗔𝗥 𝗦𝗘𝗜𝗭𝗘 𝗣𝟰.𝟵𝗠 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗚𝗦; 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗚 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬

As a result of the continuous and intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of PRO-CAR, a total of Php4,950,000.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized, and one drug personality was arrested in Benguet and Kalinga on June 19, 2024.

In Kalinga, the joint operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit (PDEG-SOU) 2, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Intelligence Unit (PDEU/PIU) of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), PDEG-SOU CAR, Regional Intelligence Division, Tabuk City Police Station (CPS), and PDEA conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy Bulanao, Tabuk City, that resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old male construction worker, listed as a High Value Individual (HVI), and the confiscation of 20 pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing approximately 20 kilograms with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php2,400,000.00.

The suspect and the confiscated evidence were brought to Tabuk CPS for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violation of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect.

Moreover, in separate marijuana eradication operations, one marijuana plantation site was discovered in Brgy Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga, planted with more or less (MOL) 12,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) with an SDP of Php2,400,000.00 by the joint operatives of 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Tinglayan MPS, PDEU/PIU of Kalinga PPO, and PDEA-Kalinga; while another plantation site was also found in Brgy Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet, planted with MOL 750 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of Php150,000.00 by the joint operatives of Kibungan MPS, PDEU/PIU of Benguet PPO, and RID.

After proper documentation, all the discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite while enough samples were taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.
