As the Cordillera Region experiences more than ten fires (forest and grass fires), DOH-CAR Regional Director Amelita Pangilinan urges the community to keep safe from the haze caused by the fires.
“Be careful. Especially those with lung conditions, the elderly, and infants. The haze can cause breathing irritants and even the eyes. You have to hydrate and wear a mask. Avoid going out if possible. Close the doors and windows of your office/house. And for children, avoid playing outside for the time being.”
RD Pangilinan also urged households near forested or grassy areas to remain vigilant and ready protective measures should there be any fire that would break out. (DOH-CAR / PR)
