𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗦 𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝟳𝟯𝗠 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗝𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗘𝗧

As part of the intensified campaign of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) against illegal drugs, a total of PhP73,020,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were torched during a series of marijuana eradication operations conducted in Mountain Province and Benguet on September 27, 2024.

In Mountain Province, approximately 500 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP60,000,000.00 and 62,500 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with an SDP of PhP12,500,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Sadanga Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO), 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-CAR in a communal forest in Brgy. Saclit, Sadanga.

Meanwhile, in Benguet, 2,600 pieces of FGMJP with an overall SDP of PhP520,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Bakun MPS, Kibungan MPS, PIU and PDEU of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division, and PDEA-CAR, from marijuana plantation sites found in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, and Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan.

After proper documentation, all the discovered marijuana plants were burned on-site, with sufficient samples taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Meanwhile, operatives are conducting intensive investigations to identify cultivators and are continuing to search nearby areas for other marijuana plantation sites. (PRO-CAR PIO / File Photos)
